30/03/08 Hi everyone! Just wanted to ask everyone for a bit of info if anyone has any. I got an email today from a lady who works at a TV show in Japan(yes I know, I thought it was rather random too) and she wanted to know some stuff about the VK scene, there and internationally. So, does anyone:

- know of any bands who have been influenced by the Japanese Visual Kei scene

and

- VK events in the US, Europe etc?

I'm going to direct her to some websites I know which have current info like that, like [link] etc but since she called on us via the club I thought I'd find out what people know! I also know that there are a few cons and stuff with a big j-rock and vk scene in Germany, but can't remember what they're called...so info on those would be great as well!

26/03/08 Just quick update to make sure everyone knows that the club is still alive. I know my updating has been sporadic at best, but I am dedicated to keeping up with it. My life just keeps getting screwed up so it puts my schedule all out of whack. I'm really really sorry for any annoyance etc that this might cause/have caused. If things don't settle down to a level that I'm happy with i.e. that the club is regularly looked after as it deserves to be then I will look into getting an admin to help me out and keep things running. Hopefully things will have calmed down by the second week of April when I'm going home for the spring hols so I'll have proper time away from uni finally to get my life together hopefully!

I think it's high time for another competition so please if you have any suggestions of themes/ideas etc then note the club! ^___^

24/11/07 Greetings all! I'm alive!!! *laughs* Well mostly so, all the work here at uni is killing me slowly but surely but VK is keeping me alive. I'm really sorry about the long silence from the club, as I say I've been drowning in assignments and reading...but now I'm back and things should be a lot more regular now!

One main problem that seems to be making an appearance lately is favouriting the deviations in the gallery. (Please if you already know this then ignore the rest of this, I know it's only a few memers and am by no means implying that it involves everyone as I know that man of you have taken note of this and do go to the original deviation and fav there if you like the piece.Thank you for that )

I want to clearly state that this is NOT allowed here, as it is that original artists who deserve the love rather than the club which is just acting as a showcase for all this beautiful art people submit here. This is stated in the Artist Comments for EVERY deviations I post up here, in nice bold underlined capitols which I thought made it stand out quite clearly but that evidently isn't always the case. I can understand if English is not your native language and such, and in such cases I am very understanding, but recently there has been a lot of favouriting going on by people who obviously haven't even glanced at the Artist Comments. You'll find that if you do look there, that I put a clearly labelled link to the original art to make it extremely easy for you to navigate you're way to it.

It has reached the point where I'm very tempted to start a system that if a deviant carries on favouriting art in the club's gallery after their first warning/notification (I send out notes to the deviants when I see they've favourited art here, asking them to please remove the favourite as soon as they can-giving links to the pieces in question to make it as simple as possible for anyone who doesn't know), I will give them a maximum of 3 more chances and then take some sort of action, such as removing them from the member list. I really REALLY don't want to have to do something like this since I want people to enjoy being members here and being around other VK lovers, but I don't know what else to do if some people are not prepared to even glance at the Artist Comments(which confuses me since I personally always look to see what the artist has to say about their piece, if anything).

Please if anyone has an alternative solution, tell me by commenting on this journal or noting the club/my account ~Vardagaladhiel etc. I would really appreciate it!

J-ROCK AND VK NEWS

-Dates have been confirmed for X Japan's spring shows. I.V.　～towards destruction～ featuring two performances at Tokyo Dome, ～Night of Destruction～ on March 28th, and ～Night of Creation～ on March 30th.

Also, I.V. will be available on iTunes starting on Wednesday, January 23rd. X Japan will be the first Japanese artist to cover the entire world with a digital release, as it will be available in twenty three different countries.

In addition, the band's JAPANESE BEST ALBUM has been announced, though a release date has not been confirmed. It will include the new tracks I.V. and Without you.

-Dir en grey's latest DVD, IN WEAL OR WOE, will be an aknot only release. The DVD will feature footage from a variety of Dir en grey's live performances from 2006 onwards.

Included footage will focus on TOUR06 INWARD SCREAM, TOUR07 INWARD SCREAM (U.S./CANADA), TOUR07 THE MARROW OF A BONE, TOUR07 THE MARROW OF A BONE -PREMIUM LIVE-, DEFTONES U.S. TOUR 2007 SUMMER with DIR EN GREY and THE FALL OF TROY, Wacken Open Air, Ankkarock Festival, M'era Luna Festival, Metal Hammer Festival and lastly, TOUR 07 DOZING GREEN.

-During his live on December 25th Miyavi announced the release of a live DVD from that night's performance. In addition to this, he announced his first world tour, "THIS IZ THE JAPANESE KABUKI ROCK TOUR 2008" which will take him to cities in nine different locations: America, Germany, England, France, South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Japan.

-LM.C will release their sixth single on 20/02/07 entitled JOHN, and will be available in three versions. Type A will include a bonus DVD with PV for the title track while Type B will include a bonus CD with a remix of METALLY. The last version will be CD only.

-Phantasmagoria will hold a one night revival, "forbidden -INSANITY of the UNDERWORLD-", on August 31st.

-Visual kei pioneers D'ERLANGER are returning in 2008 with the release of a new single in March and a new album in April. Both releases are currently untitled and no exact release dates have been announced. In addition to these releases, the band will perform a 25th anniversary concert at Budokan on May 6th.

-LUNA SEA will be releasing their new DVD on March 26th. It'll feature, in full, the band's Christmas Eve 2007 reunion show, LUNA SEA GOD BLESS YOU～One Night Dejavu～, at the Tokyo Dome.

I'll upload when I can get the time, at a minimum I'll try to do it once a week if there is enough demand.
